Digital Success Weekly gives you one simple step to move your online presence forward, in 30 minutes or less.
This week is about getting your blog post in front of people. Writing it was the hard part. Sharing it takes just a few minutes. And it's one of the most effective things you can do to drive traffic back to your website.
What This Focus Is Really About
Think of sharing your blog post as opening the doors after you've set up the shop.
You've done the work. You've written the post. But if you don't tell anyone about it, it just sits there. Sharing your blog on social media invites people in and gives your content a chance to do its job.
Why This Matters
1. Your followers won't find your blog on their own
Most people don't browse websites looking for new blog posts. You need to bring the content to them where they already are. Social media is how you do that.
2. It drives traffic to your website
Every click from a social media post to your blog is a visitor on your website. More visitors means more chances to build trust, grow your list, and convert readers into customers.
3. One blog post can fuel multiple social media posts
You don't just share a link and move on. A single blog post can become a quote graphic, a tip post, a behind-the-scenes post about writing it, and a direct share. You get multiple posts from one piece of content.
4. It reinforces your expertise
Every time you share helpful content, you remind your audience that you know your stuff. That builds the trust that leads to sales and referrals.
How to Share Your Blog Post on Social Media
Here are three simple ways to do it:
Share the link with a short caption that tells people what they'll learn ("I just published a new post about X. Here's why it matters for your business...")
Pull a key quote or tip from the post and share it as a graphic, then mention the full post is linked in your bio
Write a short summary of the main points as a post, and invite people to read the full article for more detail
A Few Tips to Keep in Mind
Share your post more than once. Most people won't see it the first time.
Adapt your caption for each platform. What works on Facebook is different from Instagram.
Tag any people or businesses mentioned in your post
Add a clear call to action ("Click the link in my bio to read the full post")
Your Action Step
Take your most recent blog post and share it on social media this week. Ask yourself:
"What's the most valuable thing in this post that I could highlight in a caption?"
"Have I made it easy for people to click through and read the full post?"
"Could I get more than one social media post out of this content?"
Share it this week. Then make sharing each new post a regular part of your publishing routine.
