Digital Success Weekly gives you one simple step to move your online presence forward, in 30 minutes or less.
This week is about repurposing. You've already written a blog post. Now you're going to turn the key points from that post into a multi-slide carousel for Instagram or Facebook. One piece of content. Two different formats.
What This Focus Is Really About
Think of a carousel as a mini presentation version of your blog post.
Instead of one long post, you break your content into a series of slides. Each slide has one clear idea. Readers swipe through to get the full picture. It's one of the most engaging formats on Instagram and Facebook right now.
Why This Matters
1. Carousels get strong engagement
People interact with carousels by swiping, which tells the platform that your content is worth showing to more people. They consistently outperform single-image posts for reach and saves.
2. You don't have to create new content
Your blog post already has everything you need. You're just breaking it down into smaller, more visual chunks. The thinking is already done.
3. Different people consume content differently
Some people read blog posts. Others prefer quick, visual content they can swipe through. A carousel lets you reach a different part of your audience with the same message.
4. Carousels are easy to create in Canva
You've already created graphics in Canva (Week 26). A carousel is just a series of those graphics built as a set with a consistent look and feel.
How to Turn a Blog Post Into a Carousel
Choose a blog post with three to five clear points
Create a cover slide with the title or hook (make it scroll-stopping)
Create one slide per main point. Keep each slide to one short idea.
Add a final slide with your call to action
Use consistent colours, fonts, and layout across all slides
A Few Tips to Keep in Mind
Keep the text on each slide short. Five to ten words per slide is plenty.
Use your brand colours and fonts for a consistent look
The cover slide is the most important. It needs to make people want to swipe.
In Canva, use the "Instagram Carousel" template size (1080 x 1080 px) for square carousels
Your Action Step
Pick one of your existing blog posts. Ask yourself:
"What are the three to five main points I could pull from this post?"
"What would make a compelling cover slide to get people swiping?"
"Can I design this in Canva using my brand colours and fonts?"
Build your carousel this week and post it. Link to the original blog post in your caption or bio.
