Digital Success Weekly gives you one simple step to move your online presence forward, in 30 minutes or less.
This week is about making sure your blog actually lives on your website. Not on a separate platform. Not on a social media page. On your own website where it can work for you long-term.
What This Focus Is Really About
Think of your website blog as a piece of real estate you own.
When you publish content on social media, you're building on rented land. The platform can change its algorithm, limit your reach, or disappear entirely. When you publish on your own website, you own that content. It stays there. It gets found through Google. And it sends people to your website.
Why This Matters
1. Your website blog builds long-term traffic
Every blog post you publish is another page that Google can index and send people to. Over time, your blog becomes one of the most powerful sources of traffic to your website.
2. It keeps people on your site longer
When someone reads a blog post and then clicks to another one, they're spending more time on your site. That builds trust and increases the chance they'll reach out or buy.
3. It gives you content to share everywhere else
Your blog posts become the source material for your social media posts, your emails, and your reels. One blog post can fuel a week's worth of content on other platforms.
4. It's easy to set up in Wix
If you're using Wix, adding a blog is straightforward. WIX has a built-in blog feature that you can add to your site in just a few clicks.
How to Add a Blog in WIX
Go to your Wix dashboard and click "Add to Site"
Search for "Blog" and click to add it
Choose where you want the blog to appear in your navigation
Set up your first blog category
Publish your first post (you wrote it last week!)
A Few Tips to Keep in Mind
Give your blog a simple name that fits your brand (ex. "Tips and Insights" or "The DST Blog")
Set up at least one category to keep your posts organized
Add your blog to your main navigation so visitors can find it easily
Make sure each post has a clear featured image to make your blog feed look polished
Your Action Step
Check your website. Ask yourself:
"Do I already have a blog set up on my website?"
"Is it easy to find in my navigation?"
"Have I published my first post yet?"
If you don't have a blog yet, add one this week. If you do have one, take 30 minutes to make sure it's organized, easy to find, and has at least one published post.
Your blog is one of the best long-term investments you can make in your online presence.
