Digital Success Weekly gives you one simple step to move your online presence forward, in 30 minutes or less.
This week is about sending a real email to your list. Not a welcome email. Not an automated sequence. A regular newsletter that goes out to your subscribers because you sat down and wrote it.
What This Focus Is Really About
Think of your email newsletter as a letter to a friend who's interested in your business.
It doesn't need to be fancy. It doesn't need to be long. It just needs to be helpful, genuine, and worth reading. One good email sent is worth more than ten perfect emails still sitting in your drafts.
Why This Matters
1. Your list grows cold if you never email it
People sign up and then forget who you are if you don't stay in touch. A regular newsletter keeps the relationship warm and keeps you top of mind.
2. Email is where sales happen
Social media builds awareness. Email builds trust and drives action. Most of your sales, bookings, and referrals will come from people who've been on your email list for a while.
3. One email a month is enough to start
You don't need to send weekly emails right away. Starting with one email a month is a sustainable pace that keeps you connected without burning you out.
4. The first one is always the hardest
Every email you send after this one will be easier. You're just breaking through the starting point this week.
What to Include in Your First Newsletter
A short, friendly intro (what's been happening in your world or business)
One helpful tip, insight, or piece of advice related to what you do
A brief mention of something you offer or a next step for readers
A warm sign-off that sounds like you
A Few Tips to Keep in Mind
Keep it short. Most people skim emails. Three to four short sections is plenty.
Write a subject line that makes people want to open it. Specific and curious beats generic and safe.
Don't try to cover everything in one email. Pick one topic and stick to it.
End with a question or invitation to reply. It makes the email feel like a two-way conversation.
Your Action Step
Sit down this week and write your first (or next) email newsletter. Ask yourself:
"What's one helpful thing I could share with my subscribers right now?"
"Does this email sound like me?"
"Is there a clear next step for the reader at the end?"
Write it. Send it. Don't wait until it's perfect.
