Week 31: Brainstorm Five Blog Post Ideas

Updated: Jul 22

Digital Success Weekly gives you one simple step to move your online presence forward, in 30 minutes or less.

This week we're moving into a new theme: content and blogging. And we're starting with the easiest step of all. Coming up with ideas. Not writing anything yet. Just ideas.

What This Focus Is Really About

Think of your blog as a place to answer the questions your customers are already asking.

Every time a customer asks you a question, that's a blog post waiting to happen. Every problem you help people solve, every misconception you regularly correct, every tip you give out over and over... all of it is blog content. You probably have more ideas than you think.

Why This Matters

1. Blogging helps people find you through Google

When you write about the topics your customers are searching for, your website has a better chance of showing up in those searches. Each blog post is another door into your website.

2. It builds trust before someone ever reaches out

When people read your blog, they start to see you as someone who knows their stuff. That trust makes it much easier for them to take the next step with you.

3. Blog content works for you long after you publish it

A blog post can attract visitors for months or years. Unlike a social media post that disappears in a day or two, a blog post keeps working in the background.

4. Starting with ideas removes the pressure

You don't have to write anything yet. Just brainstorming five ideas this week is enough. One step at a time.

How to Find Your Five Ideas

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What do my customers ask me most often?

  • What do I wish my customers knew before they came to me?

  • What mistakes do I see people make in my area of expertise?

  • What topics do I talk about all the time in conversations or on social media?

  • What would I search for in Google if I were my own customer?

A Few Tips to Keep in Mind

  • Write your ideas down somewhere you can find them later

  • Don't judge your ideas at this stage. Just capture them.

  • Specific topics make better blog posts than broad ones. "How to write a clear homepage headline" beats "tips for websites."

  • Your ideas don't have to be groundbreaking. Helpful and clear is enough.

Your Action Step

Grab a notebook or open a document. Ask yourself:

  • "What are the five most common questions I get asked?"

  • "What topics do I already know well enough to write about?"

  • "What do my customers need to know that they don't know yet?"

Write down five blog post ideas this week. That's it. You'll write the actual posts in the weeks ahead.

You don't need perfect ideas. You just need five of them.
