Week 25: Plan One Week of Social Media Content

Updated: Jul 22

Digital Success Weekly gives you one simple step to move your online presence forward, in 30 minutes or less.

This week is about planning. Not a complicated 30-day content calendar. Just a simple plan for one week of social media posts. That's it.

What This Focus Is Really About

Think of a content plan as a grocery list before you go to the store.

Without a list, you wander the aisles, forget things, and end up with a cart full of stuff that doesn't go together. With a list, you go in with a purpose, get what you need, and get out. Planning your content works the same way.

Why This Matters

1. Planning stops the blank screen problem

When you sit down to post without a plan, it's easy to freeze. A simple plan tells you exactly what to create so you can focus on doing it instead of deciding what to do.

2. Consistent posting builds a following

The algorithm on every platform rewards consistency. When you post regularly, more people see your content. A plan makes consistency possible.

3. One week at a time is manageable

You don't need to plan a month in advance. Planning one week at a time is enough to create a rhythm without feeling overwhelmed.

4. You don't need a lot of posts

Three posts a week is enough to stay visible on most platforms. That's all you're planning for right now.

A Simple One-Week Content Plan

Here's a framework to get you started:

  • Post 1 (Monday or Tuesday): A helpful tip, how-to, or piece of advice related to what you do

  • Post 2 (Wednesday or Thursday): Something that shows the human side of your business (behind the scenes, a personal story, or a client win)

  • Post 3 (Friday): A call to action (visit your website, book a call, check out a product or service)

A Few Tips to Keep in Mind

  • Write your post ideas down in a simple document or notebook

  • You don't need perfect ideas. Good enough and posted beats perfect and never published.

  • Reuse content that performed well in the past. There's no rule against repeating yourself.

  • Block 30 minutes once a week to plan the next week's posts

Your Action Step

Grab a piece of paper or open a document. Ask yourself:

  • "What three things could I post about this week?"

  • "What does my audience need to hear from me right now?"

  • "What action do I want people to take after seeing my posts?"

Write down three post ideas for this week and commit to publishing them.

You don't need a perfect plan. You just need a simple one.
